VERITAS Collagen Matrix displayed high strength and minimal infection rate allowing its use in the reconstruction of complex abdominal wall defects where prosthetic mesh had failed or was contraindicated.

Start Fast - VERITAS Collagen Matrix Remodels Faster than Other Biologic Meshes*

Two large animal studies by Deeken et al1 and Melman at et al2 from the Washington University showed that:

  • VERITAS remodeled significantly faster and more completely at 1 month than Alloderm, Strattice, Permacol and PERI-GUARD1,2
  • VERITAS retained the highest remodeling scores at 6 and 12 month compared to Alloderm, Permacol and PERI-GUARD.2
  • Remodeling consists of 6 histological characteristics including: ECM deposition, Neovasularization, Fibrous Encapsulation, Cellular Infiltration, Cell Types, and Scaffold Degradation. Combining scores in all six categories is a strong indicator of the overall remodeling process and resulted in a composite score for each mesh type.1,2
